Clinical Supervision

What is individual counselling?

Clinical supervision at Living Hope is dedicated time for psychology students, early-career counsellors, and helping professionals to bring their real casework to a more experienced clinician. It’s a space to think out loud about a client you feel stuck with, an ethical grey area, or a skill you want to sharpen — and to leave with clearer case conceptualization and steadier confidence in the room.

What typically happens in a session?

Supervision can be individual or in a small group. Sessions usually start with you naming what you want to bring — a specific case, a pattern you keep noticing in yourself, a technique you want feedback on. Your supervisor will ask guiding questions, help you think through case conceptualization, and give direct, practical feedback. Some sessions stay technical (structuring a session, choosing an intervention); others turn toward you as the clinician — your own reactions in the room, vicarious trauma, and sustaining yourself in this work long-term. Ethical reflection and professional accountability are part of every session.
